I still like the colors in this outfit. A couple years ago I remade the
skirt into a Victorian style, and used the leftover striped fabric to make
a tailored jacket. I call it my "Cathouse Madame" dress, or sometimes
my "Kate" dress, which you can see on the Victorian page.
The vest and blouse are for sale on Etsy. Since these pics were taken,
the bodice has had boning added to make it fit smoothly.
The magenta skirt pictured here is currently for sale on Etsy. The linen blouse
sold a few months ago. The bodice was too worn to keep.
This is the oldest of my pieces featured on the site; my mother and I made
this in late 1991. I did most of the patterning and construction; she did
the gold embroidery all around the cuffs. I am considering dismanteling
this and remaking it to look more Tudor, which I will probably do when I
find a suitable coordinating fabric, carve out a week or two with nothing
to do, and cows jump over the moon. If you like it in its current
incarnation, it's for sale on Etsy.
