Fabulous? Who, me?
My wedding dress, November 18, 2006. Candlelight silk in a heavy crepe,
fully lined with silk charmeuse. Lace overlay on bodice. Vogue pattern,
now discontinued.

Another wedding dress, this one made for my photographer, Amber, in 2007.
This is all silk; the underskirt is copper/turquoise shot taffeta, and the
overskirt and bodice are blue/burnt orange shot dupioni.

Some of the trim on her bodice is cocoa-colored silk velvet. Entire dress
was patterned from scratch by me. The lace on the sleeves was hand-tinted
to match. Freshwater pearl beading.

Amber wanted an oak leaf motif in memory of her father, so I drew an
abstracted oak leaf design and cut out all the appliques from the taffeta.
You can really see in this pic how the angle of viewing made the
taffeta change color.

I call this my "starlet" dress, which I think was inspired by one from
Trashy Diva (I love their stuff but it never fits me). This was actually
an "upcycled" dress--made over from a larger, full-length bridesmaid's
dress someone gave me. Gorgeous claret velvet. Sold on Etsy in 2008.

Classic sheath dress I made for my college graduation, May 2000. This was
one of my early best efforts, and I wore it quite a lot until my back and
shoulders started broadening from kung fu and it didn't fit any more. This
picture was taken after it started to get a little tight. So sad. I gave
it away.
